Graduation Day Spring 2019 cohort
It’s a tradition to put our graduating startups in the spotlight at our Founders Circles. But how do you organize their graduation when those Founders Circles cannot take place due to COVID-19? Anno corona, online seemed the way to go.
And so it happened that on July 2nd, our graduating Spring 2019 cohort and the imec.istart team gathered virtually, and soon the following exclamations echoed through all living rooms:
... CHEERS!
A home-delivered box including drinks and snacks got everyone in the party mood.
... TEAM UP!
Entertainment was brought by our startups themselves. In the run-up to the event, we gave them some quirky assignments which they had to prepare in groups. The creative – and sometimes hilarious – answers they came up with to questions like “How would you merge your technologies?” or “What tv-show would you compare imec.istart with?” made it hard for the imec.istart jury to crown the winner.

The venture acceleration managers took the time to thank their startups for the collaboration and to highlight how much each startup had grown in the last year.

Finally, we wished our graduates all the best for the future. As alumni in our portfolio get lifelong support, we did not say “goodbye”, but “see you soon!”.
Having the Spring 2019 graduation online was quite unusual, but nevertheless we look back on a successful event. We thank our startups Arkane, Asylia Diagnostics, BrighterBins, Calltic, Creative Therapy, ImplicitMeasures, Ledsreact, ProteoFormiX, and Senhive for creating these unforgettable memories with us!
